Problem: 7+5
Her thinking out loud: (literally)
Lets see, 7+5, 7+5, um 7+5 is 14 minus 2. Lets see, 14 minus 2 is like 4 minus 2 plus ten. so 4 minus 2 is 2. then ten. so its 12. the answer is 12.
next problem.... 9+4
lets see anything plus nine is really the number minus one plus ten. so 4 minus 1 is three then add ten so 13.
Mom. whenever I write my eights its like my hand is doing it by itself, like it has a mind of its own
AAAARGH! Why does it take four hours to do one math worksheet?
HOW do you deal with a mind like this? Thinking in circles!
