A week into the new me. I got a p.t. job at the kids school as a Teachers Aide (So far babysitter/herder). Not the most thrilling job I can think of but there are benefits to being on the same schedule as the kids. I moved Preschool to afternoons and the transition was better than I had hoped. I really have a great group of kids (and parents) this year. I got released from Nursery and called to RS. That's more of a life change than you might imagine. I'd go back to nursery in a heartbeat. Junior has had to adjust to upheaval. He isn't used to going to daycare in the mornings. He is going to a different house every day making the transition funner for him. (And just that much more complicated for me). Yesterday I got to go to a veterans day assembly with the kids. I was amazed at the remarkable behaviour of the entire school. There are 700 kids, sitting on the floor quietly, attentive to the (slightly boring) veteran. They clapped, showed appropriate respect. I got absolutely choaked up in the beginning when the school sang the national anthem together in their red/white/blue uniforms, it was amazing. I didn't expect to be so touched. Patriotism is one thing this school teaches well.
