Sam's class has been working on a compassion project this week. Very delicately, each child was given a pretend disability to experience and discuss. Garrison was blind so Sam got to help him and lead him around. Sam was mute, which I find hilarious! He says they drew slips of paper but I am convinced the drawing was rigged! I cannot begin to imagine Sam mute. The kid would rather speak than eat if he were starving to death. We have tried many many times to play the quiet game in our home and well- have you met us? John and I wondered what our family might be like if Sam had been the youngest instead of the oldest. Much quieter. I think the other kids are trained to speak loudly, and quickly to get a word in edgewise. If Nicole had been the oldest, think of the tranquility.
My own disability: our internet has been kicking me off after 30 seconds making me want to scream. Im actually at a friends house editing this and checking my email and calendar. Im HOPELESS!

I can't imagine any kid, let alone Barak, trying not to speak for longer than a couple minutes. That sounds like a really cool project they were working on!
