I choose you....

<
Junior had an awesome (and SIMPLE) party. I have to share my planning secrets because they ROCK! #1 Delegate. About two weeks ago I did a search on birthday party ideas.com for pokemon. I read through all the 5/6 year old party plans and chose a bunch of things we could totally pull off. I found tons of stuff online (dltk-kids.com/pokEmon/pokemon.html) that we could print out. Everything that needed to be cut, I gave to Nicole and Mary. They even prepped the crafts last week. I assigned activities for Samuel and Nicole to be in charge of and clean up after. This morning, we ALL cleaned the house and John was supposed to make the cupcakes and ended up making a cake too! He cant help himself. I was supposed to buy a parachute for parachute games but I hadn't gotten to the store so rather than scrap the whole activity I used an old fitted sheet that I was going to throw out anyway and cut a hole in the center (for the pokeballs to fall through) I was going to cut it into a circle shape but realised that the elastics in the edges made it circular enough. BTW a parachute is an easy, fun, time filler! We had so much fun. Nicole and Samuel even hammed it up as Team Rocket. They were adorable.

Even though Junior chose to hold the party before his actual birthday (Monday) and we showed him a calendar and all, hes still confused about dates. He insists that today is his birthday. Time is really a tough concept for him. He waited soooo long (impatiently) for Lagoon day (yesterday) and insists that Today he is 5!
Sucess!

sounds like a great party. thanks for sharing your planning ideas and resources. i love the idea of an at home party. so many are held elsewhere that the at home kind we always had as kids are unique and interesting now. glad to hear that things seem well with you and your family. i have to admit i'm confused by the name changes though. what's up with sameul, nicole, junior and...i forget the other one.
